The concept for Pręparant was born close to home when Bill and his wife, Jan, began the college search for their son Casey. At the same time, Bill’s daughter gave birth to the first grandchild and at the same time, Bill was given an assignment by a large financial services company to research possible product and service enhancements for college savings programs. Researching the project and sharing their experiences with family, friends and neighbors, Bill and Jan quickly found that most parents and grandparents struggle with preparing their children (and grandchildren) for higher education.

Bill and Jan also discovered there was no one source of integrated information that could help with the hard work of preparing children for higher education. Bill and Jan asked “Why isn’t there a single place to find just the right information on a broad range of education issues? And why is it so hard to find local resources and services? Why isn’t there someplace that helps parents understand what questions to ask, and helps them find the best answers? Why does the college search and admissions process need to be so hard?” Their answer was to found Pręparant.

Pręparant serves as the “single stop,” central source of actionable information so many parents and grandparents are looking for. Pręparant closes the gap between the millions of parents in need of assistance and those best equipped to provide it. In short, Pręparant exists for one reason: to help Parents find help in preparing their children for higher education.

Bill has 25 years experience as Director and Vice President at several national insurance companies and consultancies and in 2000, started FirstCall Insurance Services which provides Corporate Development services for Healthcare and Financial Services Companies. FirstCall Insurance Services also manages Health Insurance for Virginia and www.hsaaccounts.com.

Bill earned his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree at Roanoke College and earned his Masters of Business Administration degree (MBA) from Averett College. Bill earned the Chartered Life Underwriter designation from The American College and recently completed the Strategic Sales Management Executive Education Program at Harvard Business School. He hails from Roanoke, Virginia and has been a Virginia resident for 52 years. He currently resides with his wife Jan in Midlothian, Virginia.
